Really nice, both sides have the scroll work. It does have a Monogram and his name inside
950 silver. Measures 6"X3" and weighs 5.5 ounces, maybe a little more.
I don't want to sell it, it was my Uncles but wanted to get a feel for actual value.
Probably bought in the 50's. Not sure when it was made.
Thanks,
Stefanie

If you don't smoke I guess you could keep Candy Cigarettes in it & display on the coffee table

Thanks, but I'm keeping it. It belonged to my Uncle.

"Interest rates, the price of money, are the most important market. And, perversely, they’re the market that’s most manipulated by the Fed." - Doug Casey
Here's a cigarette case I inherited, it is inscribed S.F.D. Oct. 13th 1858, with a D on the smaller case. When given to me, I was told it is silver, but am now unsure. I'd sell it if I confidently found out what it was actually worth, and an interested buyer. Will illustrate the back in next post.
Here's the other side of the same 1858 cigarette case. Would appreciate comments from anyone knowledgeable.

<< <i>Interesting item. Not for tobacco cigarettes but........... >>
Yes, the case is a bit too thin for modern commercial cigarettes, but it would be okay for narrower roll-your-owns, which might not necessarily be of tobacco, is that what you're hinting at? What were they smoking in the 1850s? And what about the tiny case attached? Was that for snuff?
