A question regarding the Set Registry Special

Hi,

I'm planning to send in some cards for the Registry Special.

I will easily have at least 25 from several years, but less than 25 in a few others. Does anyone know if it's OK to submit the small quantities with the larger quantities as long as the total is beyond 25? I would probably put them all on the same invoice of 100 cards.

you can submit as many cards from any years as long as you have the particular set registered.you don't even have to have any cards from the set to register it. i personally registered a 78 set just to have one card graded from that year.all you have to do is make sure there are 25 or more cards on your invoice. i highly doubt that they are checking to see if you have a set registered .my last sub was done and posted in 5 business days. thay are real fast.

I must be the exception here; I am still waiting the results on an invoice I sent in last month (received by PSA on 3/5/02) under the set registry special. I keep seeing the fast turn around times for others under the special with many people seeming to have their cards graded before mine despite sending them in after mine were received by PSA. I have wrote PSA to learn more about prioritizing grading with orders (would seem "first come first served" on grading of cards under the same level of service) but thus far my e-mails have gone unanswered by PSA. Needless to say I am very frustrated. I had hoped to have these cards back and some sold prior to the April 15 cutoff on the special in order to get more cards graded. Looks like that is not going to happen. I do wish I could get an explanation from PSA. image

    Mefer,

Definitely give a call to PSA. See if you can speak with Charlie about your invoice. It sounds like yours may have gotten shoved aside because it really shouldn't be taking that long. They are very good about tracing those things down and trying to remedy the situation. Good luck!

Thanks Frank, I will try that. However, the last couple of times I have called, I have received nothing but a short answer such as "it is in grading." Perhaps if I try to speak to Charlie, maybe he can help. Thanks for the idea.
  • mefer - The only thing better than quick turnaround, is PSA not meeting the guaranteed turnaround time and having to give you free submissions. I personally wouldn't call them. I would let the cards fall into a crack, keep my fingers crossed, and hope for the free submissions. Your calls might just shake them loose. Calculate the number of working days, making sure to include any holidays, add a day or two, and when you are absolutely sure they are over the limit, then give them a call.

I actually went ahead and called; spoke to Charlie as recommended. Charlie is a real nice guy, explained everything and took the time to answer my questions. The fact that he called me back within about a half hour that I left a voice mail says a lot. He seemed genuinely concerned about the questions I had regarding my modest order. A+++ all the way around. I will contact him in the future for my customer service needs.

I know we all (or a large portion of us, including myself) have complained about PSA and service issues on the board. We should, as I have done here, applaud PSA when they address our customer service needs. Thanks again PSA.
