Anybody know how to authenticate these?

I do not get too many foreign coins, but these came in and I am not sure how to authenticate these. Any help is appreciated?

I ran the picture of the 1714 Mexican Royal 8 Escudos by a friend who knows these coins better than I do. He thinks the coin is likely a cast counterfeit made from a real (and very expensive) coin.

I'd suggest that you weigh it and get back to us with the results. If it's in the ballpark, it's worth further investigation.

    coin 1 = 22.69 grams larger than a quarter
coin 2 = 15.91 grams (slightly larger but thinner)
coin 3 = 14.24 grams slightly larger than a half dollar

Coin #3 should weight roughly 27 grams, which means you're out of luck on that one. But on the bright side, the last one to come to market (a few years ago) was a gem that brought over 300K.

number 1 looks like a cast replica of a Mexico silver 8 reales (original weight 27 Gram)
these type of cobs were found in the duch shipwrecked VOC Rooswijk , went down in 1739 off
    the kentish coast of England.

number 2 looks OK, but the weight of a silver 4 reales should be around 13,5 Gram.

That really looks like a bad counterfeit to me, but I am far from an expert.
