1963 Topps

Hello everybody,I'm new here to PSA and like this thread thing. I collect only 1963 Topps baseball and am currently #43 on the current list. Does anyone here have any info on Waverly82 or gregmorriscards on eBay? They are selling some raw '63's that look pretty neat. When my set is done this year it looks to be top 30! When I figure my scanner I will scan some of my graded and raw. Some of the cards I've seen are beautiful1 This is the Major Leagues of collecting!

    Waverly82 is getting some bad reviews on this board. I have bought from gregmorriscards and have been very satisfied.

    Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.

    gregmorris is a solid seller and has great customer service; his cards are legit, unaltered and well-graded;

    waverly isn't and his cards aren't

    No offense meant but is this thread legit or an alt trying to get you guys to bash Waverly?

    Hi, hello, how are ya? image

    I have purchased from Waverly in the past. Subbed to PSA. A few came back with high grades, many came back rejected for various reasons. The gentleman does not seem to have a faithful following on this board.

    The timing may be suspicious but the new poster introduced himself, said what he is interested in, showed his set in the registry. Perhaps he has not lurked here for long before posting. I believe in giving the benefit of the doubt until shown otherwise.

    I attended a card show in Santa Clara Ca. on Jan 9th and PSA was there and they informed me about this message board and a sale for members (through Feb. $5.00 a card, minimum of 50 and cards must be valued under $100.00ea.) amongst many other helpful hints.My apologies about the suspicions there just happens to be these two sets up for auction that I am interested in. Thank you for all your input.What is an alt? And what is a bump? Looks I have a lot to learn.

    Odd or unlucky timing.

    Is there ever a "right" time for a newbie to start a thread like this?
  • No there isn't. If we have discussed something here before it's not the right time for someone who's new to discuss lol LOL....

    Welcome, I think it's just the timing image

    Lets make this a kindler, gentler board.......... Yes, you should buy all of Waverly's raw NM-MT cards. Afterall, they are very colorful and there's nothing like a 1971, 62 or 63 that smells like a magic marker.

    I have to second the comments about apple383's cards - Dave's are always awesome.

  • I love the '63's colorful designs. Once I started out working on a '62 graded set, I had second thoughts about stopping and doing the '63 instead. About the time I found out about the green-tinted '62s, though, and the fun challenge that presented, I had really come to appreciate the wood-grain bordered set even more.

    Best of luck with those '63s! imageimage
