Question regarding PSA 1933 Goudey/WWG Foxx #29

Hi everyone. First post here. I recently purchased a 1933 Goudey Jimmy Foxx #29 VG+. On receiving the card, I noticed that it was in fact the Canadian version of the 1933 Goudey set, a.k.a. 1933 World Wide Gum. While I'm not really upset that it is a WWG, the problem is that the PSA holder identifies the card as a Goudey. I am fairly sure that PSA differentiates between the two. Of course, my major concern is that the card was swapped out of the holder, or some such fraud. Is it possible that PSA just misidentified the card? Has anyone had that happen to them before? They are extremely similar, but the manufacturer is clearly listed on the bottom of the back of card.
BTW, the PSA cert checks out. How worried would you be? The seller has offered to take the card back.
Thanks for any info/advice you may have.

First off welcome to the boards, you pose an interesting question and history tells me that PSA is prone to mislabeled flips.
How the labels were mis-identified? Could be that the original submitter listed the card as a "Goudey" and it slipped past the PSA rep.
My only concern for you would be the purchase price, did you pay Goudey or WWG price? The WWG tend to sell for less.
Is the grade a VG PSA 3?
Feel free to PM me if you want to discuss the price and maybe I can help you identify if the sale was fair market.

Nice that the seller will take the card back. I hope all ends well.

R319s are the 2nd most common of all PreWar cards,.... any and all sports/nonsports sets
Is the V353 the tougher "all English" or "French/English" version??
PSA makes mistakes like that all the time, obviously the card number on the flip will not match the card number on the back of the card.... there are so many times this error would have been caught if they would just hire someone who knows cards to handle each one and check before they are slabbed, or at least shipped.
Thanks again, seems like you all have a civil and genuinely helpful community here. That's becoming more of a rarity these days!

For future reference take a close look at www.VintageCardPrices.com it tracks a majority of ebay and auction house sales of every graded card imaginable for every sport.
I always reference this website prior to making a bid or purchase of a graded card, it's a membership service but will save your ass with every purchase.
I'll send you a PM momentarily so we can figure out your WWG deal.

<< <i>Thanks for the replies. I am just getting back into collecting, and don't currently have access to an SMR to price the card. Can anyone give me the current value of this card? It's a WWG 1933 Foxx #29, PSA 3.5, VG+. AN equivalent value for the 1933 Goudey would be helpful if that's all that is available.

Chad,
The best that I can help you with prices is to let you know what the 2009 Standard Catalog shows for each (these prices are for ungraded cards):
1933 World Wide Gum #29 Jimmy Foxx - VG $85, EX $155
1933 Goudey #29 Jimmy Foxx - VG $300, EX $700
Hope this helps!
