How to properly cancel ebay purchase

Someone bought a morgan dollar buy it now on ebay. They then called me to cancel stating that it's the wrong coin. I have no problem ( and prior to learning that I've been ripped for for 100K plus was delighted that he wanted to cancel ) with canceling but I do not obviously want to be the one to initiate the cancelation. Doesn't the buyer need to do that?

It would be easier for you to initiate it, and have the buyer agree. It is easy to do. You have a list of reasons to choose from, and it should just take a minute. No penalty either way.

You have to do it. Go to resolve a problem (you may have to wait 4 days for this to be open) and it should walk you through. There will be an option to say that the transaction was mutually canceled, so even though the first screen may sound like the buyer's going to get punished, it's clear that options are available to have your fees refunded and not penalize the buyer.

Where's "resolve a problem" located?

No need to wait three days. Do it now. On 'My eBay', find the item in your 'sold' section. Use the drip down menu on the far right. Select resolve a problem and away you go. The buyer must agree to receive a final value fee/listing fee credit.
