  • Dear board member,

PSA did not recognize T206 backs in the system and on the PSA label when the company first opened its doors in 1991.

In fact, the T206 backs were not recognized for many years.

The PSA NM-MT 8 Wagner card has a Piedmont back in case you were wondering.

    Take care,

Thanks Joe. I guess it's the IT guy in me, but I saw that cert number and my brain went "Test Data!!!!", but this makes perfect sense.

Thanks Joe. One more point, I was under the impression that the T206 Wagner card only came in Sweet Cap backs. I appreciate your input. Thanks!

Taken from a post on Net54 - from Ted Z

The Honus Wagner card can be found with these 3 backs......

    Piedmont 150 Factory 25

    Sweet Caporal 150 Factory 25

    Sweet Caporal 150 Factory 30

The Sweet Caporal 150 Factory 25 card of Wagner appears to be
    the back most often seen.

  • There are at least two known Piedmont backs, to the best of my knowledge, but the vast majority of them have Sweet Caporal backs.

I do not believe the 2nd known Piedmont Wagner has been graded. It sold for about $87,000, ungraded, approximately 10 years ago at auction.

Joe is correct, the ungraded Piedmont Wagner, having once belonged to collecting pioneer Charles Bray, was sold in the Dec '01 Mastro auction. It went for $86,729.

  • I still am planning on cracking and resubittming my vast majority of my T206 Wagners. Still think the grader was on dope that day. All 10's... should of been...along with the 1993 Cardtoons RAMBO CANSECO card I submitted , which got a 4. Not seeing the difference in signifance yet between the two cards. Wagner/Canseco, same importance.
  • Joe O. posts twice in the same thread, he must be post padding.
