Is it true that Scottish gold is reported to be amongst the most expensive in the world - a gram of it can cost more than five times the price of normal gold.

It is said to be easily workable because of its softness and a richer yellow colour than commercially-marketed gold.

    Hype? Scottish gold is no different than any other gold as long as they have the same fineness and the same alloy. After all, gold is an element.

    The credulity of the purchaser. I'm sure anybody here would wrap all you'd like in a tartan and ship it to you for only 3.5 * spot. On holidays, like St. Andrews Day, perhaps as little as triple. Shall I put you down for a metric tonne?
