submission results "time gap" question

DennisHDennisH Posts: 13,989 ✭✭✭✭✭
If two PCGS orders go "live" in the PCGS status system the same day and are for the same class of service (Economy), it's not a surprise that results will post on different days. But does anyone have any idea how many days apart is considered within the range of "normal"?
When in doubt, don't.

Always with the trick questions, Dennis! We are going to hold your orders an extra day!! image

Actually, we post the average turnaround times on our website each week. I just checked and economy is running 35 days. That is not particularly good, as I know we were running much better a month ago and we do try very hard to keep it at 30 days or less.

So to answer your question I can see where there could easily be a 5 day difference for orders submitted on the same day (actually isn't 6 days one standard deviation - ok it's been a while). That doesn't count things like variety attribution or any other special process.

    Don:

    Thanks for the reply!!
How about 18 days difference? That's what I'm looking at so far.

P.S. -- No variety attributions are involved... just straight grading of raw coins.
    When in doubt, don't.

    Well it certainly is now!
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

I submitted my economy sub back in early December, 7 December actually. It is now 18 Jan...... image

Edited to add, much slower than back in October. It was lightning fast back then. Only took 2 weeks.

If one of your submissions has Trade Dollars expect that one to come last.

The holidays and FUN caused delays, I'd wager. The PCGS table was packed in Tampa every time I walked by. It took four trips by before I could get a seat to get help with a submission.

Our patience, hopefully, will be rewarded. image
