<< <i>Wow -- seems like it is worth 5 bills. Cool! >>
Yes as I have never seen one toned, they usually come blast white. I may have overpaid but this one is going to be kept for a very long time......its a keeper
I watched it for days . . . have two others (Danny Kayes) with serials within 3 digits, so thought it might be fun to get, but when it started to zoom, I thought I'd apply the money to more Doilies!
The little green PCGS baglet is probably worth almost as much as the Regency slab itself!
Pretty coin. They have been selling for about $275 to $400 for the package but this is worth a little more as it is a prettier coin than most. But then again it is all about the plastic/baglet or the coin, heh?
Steph, the toning on that example is brilliant! I would think that what you paid is well worth it given the uniqueness of the toning...oh and the Regency slab
I placed a strong bid on it but obviously I didn't win.

I am here just to lend some authenticity to your bids and wins! You have the moniker of "Slab King", and I am honored if I can be your foil (Shakespearean reference). But yes, throw down the gentlemanly gauntlet and we'll see each other on the bits and bites of the 'net, doing a duel for the Doilies that will do the Boards proud! I will give it my best shot wherever I can find the elusive slabs, but if I lose to Oreville, I'l;l lick my wounds and keep trying!
Unleash thine sword, "Slab King" . . . the battle is engaged and on the field of Doily contest there will be many ebbs and flows, but in the end we (I?) seek only a legendary fight that will go down in Board history as a time where others say "Wow, that was a lot cooler than the crappy eBay threads that dweebs kept posting".
En Garde . . Oreville! The Doily hunt ensues!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its cool....very cool...but a coin from Israel would not float my boat at all. NOW, if there was something ultra cool in it, Id like it a lot better. That specimAn thing would also be a problem.

I wonder where the regency slab with the 90-CC tailbar is now? That is a cool coin in a regency slab.

Agree with your sentiments. I was lucky enough to get a Regency slab with a MS-62 1852 gold dollar with the label denoting a double punched date. Unfortunately, it didn't have the drawstring bag but I didn't pay any premium for the slab.
