New Collector- Advice on where to store your bullion coins?

Ok one of those rookie questions. I am starting out and have some bullion coins (buff's, eagles, etc.). Any suggestions on where to store them? Do folks put them in safe deposit boxes at the bank? Is it cheaper just to add them to your homeowners insurance policy? Thoughts from some of you veterans?

Thanks!

If you buy them as an alternative of money, the sdb is the best place.
I do buy PM as a collection so I enjoy looking at them every once in a while (pretty often actually).
I have splitted my collection in 3 places: safe deposit box, a cabinet where I have also my collecting tools and a small metal box hidden in a drawer.

I can't help with the insurance part.

    ...and btw...welcome!

I keep mine in the SDB when I go to school. Sometimes they visit when I'm home. image

I have a safe for a lot of my stuff and a few in an SDB, and it's insured through a 3rd party insurance company. Collectibles Insurance , as well as others, are usually quite a bit cheaper than your homeowners insurance. Don't forget, the last time we had a depression a lot of the banks never opened back up.
