It means if you owned 10 oz of platinum you are worth $70 more right now then when you woke up this morning

It means if you owned 10 oz of gold you are worth $94 less right now then last night.

Not much else most likely. Metals don't move in lockstep, especially platinum and gold. Platinum to still WAY off of its AT high

Two hours of trading doesn't make a trend.

It's been more than two hours, gold has been sputtering for weeks now and platinum has been quietly rising for days.

I guess it all depends on time frames. Gold is what 5% or so off from it's all time high and platinum is off 20%. Perhaps some see more value in platinum today.

From a trader's perspective foe sure platinum has more momentum then gold recently on the long side. A general raising stock market lift's platinum more then gold. Could always be mining issues as well. A healthier car market helps white metals. Could be any or all or smoething I'm missing..................Usually it's just more buyers then sellers and vice a versa.....................I like platinum and gold. MJ

Platinum doesn't always hold up when gold & silver happen to be down, but it goes a different direction often enough to really act as a buffer. Still, it's a precious metal and generally rises when the other pms do. Having a significant % as platinum will not hurt you.

Platinum has been stronger than gold the past month and a half after hitting an 18 month bottom. As already mentioned they cycle. And since the fall in 2008, platinum has much ground to regain, assuming that happens.
