<< Why a 'pro' would not grade a $500 PSA 8 NM - MT card and list it for $100 raw is suspect at best. Did it not fit in the submission with the GW you wrote about in the listing? No reverse image either. Lazy? Opportunistic? Charity? Loser? >>
Morning,
Wow, my exact thoughts!! So what aren't we disclosing here? Hey Carew, nothing personal but would love to hear your justification on this, and I think the estimate could even be low, if that came back a 7 or a 7.5 I think your looking at an $500-$1000 card, if an 8, then Auction House and possibly $1000-$3000 card. So what aren't you telling us? I can tell you this, if it had a 1 in 10 cahnce of coming back an 8 it would be on its way to PSA NOW, at least two-three times!!!!!
So?
Thanks
Neil

Evening,
Yep your right I am getting paranoid, its called getting burned on several High Dollar cards on E-Bay (Non Board members), so as I said I wouldn't have left money on the table, I meant it. As long as you aren't hiding anything, which I didn't say you were, but to not originally have a back scan and maybe a scan of the corner in question makes one wonder why?
Wasn't trying to impune you in particular, just maybe your entire presentation of the card could leave one to believe that something fishy was going on, with those of us who have been around the Block a time or two.
So I'll post this on the thread and state I wasn't saying you were doing anything crooked, but should be carefull of how you present stuff on these boards, it can be misconstrued!
And I personally, still wouldn't EVER be selling that card NOT in a PSA Holder...........Period!!!

At least "otwcards" got it right

Wish I would've seen this in time. Might have been the best couple of hundred I could have spent... Talk about a no lose proposition!

It came back a bright and shiny PSA 7 #17837881 today to the PSA Dealer that won and submitted it.
And just so i quote myself right from my ebay auction 2 months ago on this board i put this message out there to everyone....
" If it comes back(N-1 THRU N-8)...i would refund from Ebay auction-- minus grading/shipping fee, As i would be taking the same risk with PSA if i submit the card myself."

Do me a favor, when you quote me, use my quotes!, The first two lines aren't mine.
And I still stand by what I said.
Have a Great evening!

<< <i>Why are you proud that you left money on the table? >>
whose to say i left anything on the table. I don't deal specificly with these cards. The ones on ebay have been sitting there for along time with PSA Labels and no offers on the 7's and 8's. Having someone opine a card is $500-$1,000 graded and they are not being sold indicates something is wrong with that value. But then i get called out by several here as the card may be possibly doctored in some way. I don't.....no, I shouldn't have to justify anything i sell on ebay graded or otherwise. If someone flips it and makes some money on it...congrats to them. BTW i sold the Washington for $x,xxx.00 ...i'm up a few bucks.
What team did he play for?

<< <i>Quoting private messages is in really poor taste...hard to put stock in anything you say after that.. >>
yes it is also a bammable offense, on most other message boards it would be immediate
We've put our differences aside (or at least I have), so please don't take this the wrong way. I don't know the back story and this is only based upon what you posted.
I don't understand the purpose of this thread. Neil gave you constructive criticism:
1) You're a PSA member or at least, have an established record of submitting via piggyback
2) It's a vintage card in great shape
3) The pricing, based upon it's condition, was significantly below market
It seems Neil was giving you friendly advice and now you're rubbing it in his face.
Not cool...
<< <i>Quoting private messages is in really poor taste...hard to put stock in anything you say after that.. >>
wasn't private dufus...check out my buy/sell thread...
I'm not picking on Neil.
He said the tag wasn't his words...but then his next comment (his own words btw)--"Wow, my exact thoughts!!" Maybe Neil should have just kept his thoughts to himself or e-mailed me if he had any serious questions about any of my reasoning of selling the card which i did post i believe on the other thread. I am however pointing out the card was legit in every way and PSA backed it up. I will leave it at that.
<< <i>Nice card.
What team did he play for?
Not sure of the team, but his career was really short lived--a little over a year in the bigs!

Dufus? Really?

Name calling is also a bammable offense, you are two for two in this thread WTG genius
<< <i>I have an idea, Carew..why not start another thread whining about how long it takes your PSA sub to pop.. >>
When we are corrected lets take another immature shot just to make ourselves feel better.
Bravo!
Must be football season...
I love the pile on mentality of the board lately.
Is it really? We should ask the expert on this one:
