I'd like to start adding to my collection by trying to go for one each of small bullion coins...1/10, 1/20 etc...I know of eagles, maple leafs, krands, etc. What are some of the less common ones I should try for?

If you do it as a collection, one of each and then you can chase the others to add variety.
I would start with the common AGE, Krug, Maple, Panda, Philharmonics. All in 1/10, since the 1/20 cost too much.
European like the Marengo (all the coins in 20 denomination: 20 Lire, 20 Francs, 20 Marks,...) are sold close to melt.
Don't forget the Peso, they carry a small premium and are very nice and well recognizable.
I like the French Rooster 20 Franc coin. You have to be ready to spend $250 or $275 for those. But a pretty coin it is.

Some of the Swiss gold coins are restrikes dated in the 1920's and were made using holocaust gold for their Nazi customers trying to hide the origin of their gold. Sort of creepy.

I agree with you in both points!

Some of the Roosters are restrikes too. I don't know where that gold came from.
