How to tell the series on 1972 Topps Baseball Packs???UPDATE BOUGHT 1 PACK

I guy I have bought unopened material from in the past recently got in some wax packs of 1972 Topps Baseball. I asked him what series they were from and he said he had no idea? How do I identify the series for these? Any help would be appreciated.

Open them.

The wrapper is the same for all the series so the only way is to identify who is showing on the back or top.

If you're unable to tell, your safest bet is to assume they're second series since that's the series with the least 'star power'.

Thanks for all of your help, bought one pack and it was a series 2, no stars but crisp corners and perfect centering.
