Waverly thread

Did that latest thread go poof or am I just unable to find it? One of my buyers was asking me about his cards and I wanted to send him a link.
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.

    Think it may have poofed

It poofed after it reached stalker-level. Not RIGHT after, interestingly enough.....

  • Perhaps it would have been better to remove only the posts referring to Mr. Waverly's personal information rather than destroy the entire thread, which was what, about 12 or 15 pages long and discussed at length the disservice he has done to the card collecting hobby?
  • We should leave his personal info out, but revive the thread to keep buyers and board members aware of his practices. I thought the before and after pics of the 62 set he bought were especially incriminating.

me too; it's a shame one poster (IMHO) couldn't refrain from trying to rouse a posse to storm the guy's workplace.

IYHO is way off. I wasn't trying to "organize" any type of posse to harass or "stalk" this shyster. My life is too good, and too full of many good things to throw MY LIFE OR, anyone elses away for a scumbag like waverly. Selling altered cards doesn't make for "going" after someone.

Yes, it is too bad he killed the thread. Sorry if I went too far. He was dead to right with his alterings. He cried to CU and had the thread killed and used the personal info as the reason.

And, one of the '62 Mantle victims even gave him positive feedback! DESPITE the fact he saw the 2 cards side-by-side. I have given up trying to enlighten his victims.

eBay keeps letting him sell. Like in politics........ Trying to do the right thing is always a waste of time.

F@#k waverlys victims. take your lumps like I did with my '63 Koufax bought from sonibaseball $60+ and $15 grading fee. Altered. And a 1963 Stargell RC that I paid almost $90 for and $15 fee. from a shawseller. Evid of recoloring.

I emailed both of them to let them know of the crap they sold me, neither answered me. There's 2 dishonest sellers for you, waverly ain't the only one on eBay making money on suckers.

I hope mentioning the sellers ID's won't be mistaken as stalking.
  • are the incriminating 62' photos still available somewhere, anyone save them?
  • And BTW, if I am still welcome here the personal stuff will be omitted from any future postings.

We'll just stick to the issue: How and what he does to his cards before and after he receives them.

  • << <i>are the incriminating 62' photos still available somewhere, anyone save them? >>

If no one else has them I have them, not as well laid side-by-side as they were though.

Then please explain why you even posted the personal data. If your intent was to simply warn people from buying, then all the Ebay auction details and scans were more than enough. The only logical purpose in sharing that stuff was to make it available for others to act on.

That being said, I'd like to see the pertinent stuff reported for the benefit of others.

In regards to the 62 Mantle....What did you want him to do...leave negative feedback for himself?image

    $300,000+ is a big operation that's all I'm saying.

I believe Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis had a hit song in the 50's: Come on a baby', a whole lotta shillin goin on.

  • << <i>In regards to the 62 Mantle....What did you want him to do...leave negative feedback for himself?image >>

As soon as you pay him he leaves positive feedback. It is then YOUR turn to leave neg or positive feedback. He could have left a big RED neg saying CARD CAME BACK AS RECOLORED.

I think the question as to why he stays in business was answered by your post.

Peeps wonder how he stays in business............. I know for fact that people are afraid to leave him negative feedback. I heard from one that all he wanted was his money back.

Sad that you can make money on people afraid to give an honest opinion about your product. Would call it strongarming but I would be crucified for it, maybe even accused of incensing people to act. waverly has everything figured to a tee, how to trim, recolor, and how to make people love getting reamed over and over again.

And BTW, personal info? What a pic of the snake as he looked 7 years ago or so when he was running (sic) for political office? Anything online is accessible to EVERYONE.

The only posse in this place is the one that is on MY azz. A clique just like in school. I guess a disclaimer was in order, I didn't know anyone would be stupid enough to stalk someone for a $200. altered card.

I ain't fighting you or anyone else anymore, you wanna jump my azz for anything else be my guest. As I said before the non-card BS is history, this thread was started and re-started for a reason: To show naive and overly trusting raw card buyers that sometimes Santa Claus is not who he pretends to be. And, as I mentioned two other peeps I dealt with in the past some other dishonest sellers might be thrown into the mix.

I'm wondering of your 47 posts how many are devoted to Waverly?

    Good for you.

I'll admit I didn't read the original thread, but I'm wondering why it matters, Steve? Seems to me that the undisputed fact is that the seller in question runs a shady operation, and Ken has taken it upon himself to enlighten collectors who aren't aware of who the seller is and what he's doing. However, not reading the original 300-odd posts most likely means that I've missed some of the underlying issues. My only point is that it shouldn't matter whether a guy has 47 or 4700 posta - scammers & thieves need to be outed.

edit: scammers & thieves, not scanners & thieves image

It didn't matter to me Geordie, I was simply asking him a question.

Why does it matter to you?

    Good for you.
