"only" ten years to complete washington quarters

Last night - I finally found my last silver quarter to complete a roll of silver washington quarter, they are all from '56 to '64.
I am real proud of my achievement, all of them comes from daily change.image

edit to add - to be completely honest, I have to say managing a retail with about $11 millions a year revenues and lot of cash helped

Wow, I haven't seen a silver quarter in change in decades! Let alone
    40 of them!

  • Any type B's in that roll? If you are in the Eastern half of the country, I figure the odds are that you might have one. I have found about 50 silver quarters since 1973 and one was a type B.

Surprise! The years in question are 1956-1964 but Philadelphia mint only.

Worn B's sometimes are quite obvious by tarnish forming in the higher relief crevices and the eagle looks outlined in black. I remember seeing those when silver circulated, but I didn't know what they were then.

I can't say that I've ever found a silver quarter before. A number of dimes, but never quarters.

Perhaps you should also be checking for the 1969 D thru 1972 D type B quarters. 1969 D type B should be the easiest. I found one about every 120 1969D's. But finding the 120 1969 D's is the first trick.
  • Thank you guys for all the info - can't wait to check all of them out for a type B

Next project is to find a cheerio dollar and more silver -
