eBay buyer question???

How long do you generally wait to contact a seller about a card that you have not received?

I won an item via "Best Offer" and paid immediately on December 29th. I know this less than two weeks but since the seller did not ship with an eBay/PayPal label (i.e. no tracking info) I am starting to wonder a bit. It is a Tony Gwynn PSA 9 Topps rookie so not a high priced card but not a common either.

I don't wan't to be "that guy" bugging the seller right away but it has been a while and no card or communication. image

I am thinking of sending an eBay message but don't want to freak the seller out. So how long do you wait to message and how long till you file an item not received if you even do at all?

  • What does his feedback show for shipping time, etc? Where is he/you located? (Probably did not ship until after the 1st of the year.)

I usually wait a full 2 weeks before sending any questions? A simple "Do you have any shipping info on the Gwynn card I purchased 12/29?" is what I would send.

Depending on the answer is what I would do next. As long as it feels ok I would wait before filing the INR until closer to the 45 day limit. If you get no answer to your question after 4-5 days you may want to consider filing sooner.

Great advice and I found the answer...

He is in Canada and I am in Texas! Looks like I just need to put this on the back burner for another 2 weeks or so.

  • That maybe is a good idea, waiting abit. Living in the Great White North it usually takes at least 3 weeks before i get my card from the US. And with the 1st Monday of the month being a postal sit on my ass holiday, may be an extra day or so. Its funny thou, it only takes about 2 weeks for a package.
Why do superheros only hang out in New York or L.A.? Why not Bangor??
