To grade or not to grade...

I have a few odd coins in my collection that are not graded that I have picked up from here and there.
A few Liberty Head Gold coins and some modern gold such as Buffalos and some commemoratives.

What is the advice of the wise mentors on this? Should I send them in or just keep them.
I am thinking of selling a few of them as I continue to whittle down some duplicates in my collection.

I would have the Liberty head gold authenticated before selling but
save your money on the modern cr@p gold.

But I am not wise so take this just as my opinion

You could always submit the modern gold trying for PCGS MS/PR70. It is a crap shoot however if you do not know how to prescreen for the MS/PR70 grade.
