Seattle area coin show next weekend

I know we have a handful of Seattle area darksiders here so I thought I'd make an announcement for the Boeing Employees Coin Club show that is being held next weekend (JAN 15-16. I've found this to be one of the better shows in the area from my short time living here. If anyone wants to meet up, let's get in touch!

The Club's website with info on the show is here. The wooden nickel door prize freebie this year features the new 787 Dreamliner.

The show is being held at the Kent Commons - google map here. There is ample parking, if not directly at the commons you can find more in the shopping center across the street. A few food places and ATMs are located in that plaza as well.

I went to the small-ish Tacoma show at the King Oscar today and spoke with Bruce Wonder and Scott Loos. Both will be there next week and have some pretty nice darkside goodies to meet most tastes.

I'll probably be going Saturday, around noon.

Right now the forecast for next weekend is nasty, so better to be indoors looking at coins, eh? image

I'll be making an appearance on Sunday. It's been way too long since I've been to a show...

Guys - Sat is a no-go for me, but it looks like I might be able to drop in on Sunday around 11 or 12. Do either of you expect to be around at that time?

Looking forward to it - its been awhile since I have had a chance to get to a show.

I'm stuck here in Spokane - the only thing keeping me from going is snow and the cascades, other than that....image

I made a couple of little purchases from Scott Loos. He and his wife were very nice. German state minors are generally not my expertise, but I thought these two pfenning were a nice pair and will compliment some of the sede vacante pieces in my collection. I'll need to reimage in better light.

My big purchase today is the new Krause German 1501-current guide. I have not spent too much time in it, but my first impression is that prices have really crept up in this latest issue.....

Sorry to have missed you, Brent. Though I think I might have been standing next to you when you bought that catalog! image
Nice minors, btw! I seem to recall Scott Loos usually having more German stuff than he did today. I think he was focusing on that consignment of ancients this time around. Him and Bruce Wonder (in the near corner at right from the entrance) are usually my first stops at shows here.

There was a lot of nice stuff at the show, but I managed to resist temptation, aside from a handful of cheapos.

For everyone else, there is a calendar of upcoming area shows at the PNNA website here. Lot's of smaller local ones this year and the big PNNA annual is going to be in Tukwila in April. Maybe we can organize a forum member meet up there?
