Well. It was very much NOT fun for me on my quest for this little copper thingy that was up in the Heritage auction today. Dammmmmit. I could NOT get the stupid audio to work on this computer at home (thanks to my daughter who visited a few days ago and put new speakers in). Strike 1. I had been high bidder on this thing since it was listed, but when crunch time came, my relative inexperience in fast paced auctions.....didnt get a winning bid in. dammmmmmit. Oh Well. Such is life. No doubt it will be up for sale in two years, and Ill catch it then. Too bad though, it sold for 3200$ less than its previous sale. I just.....messed up.
HT 266 Feuchtwanger three cent Die trial piece (unique).
ambro51, I had the same situation happen to me last year at the Baltimore Bowers and Merena sale. I will never again rely on online bidding at an auction for something I truly want to own.
Pair of flying eagle cents from the BST. Its amazing how many striking/planchet issues these had. Its no wonder the mint stopped production on these after 3 years.
