my latest cool find

A while back I bought, from a card shop that was closing down, a package of old Notre Dame programs for $2. The one on the front was a Notre Dame/USC program from 1982. Someone (almost certainly the original purchaser) had printed his name at the top, it what looked like a kid's hand. I couldn't tell what the program on the back was (all I saw was the back ad), but there were several others in between). I figured that I can't lose at $2. Last weekend I finally opened the package. There were several Football Eye magazines and spring football prospectuses along with 4 Notre Dame game programs (1980 vs. Oregon, 1980 vs. USC, and 2 of 1982 vs. USC). I flipped through the programs, and the 3 ND/USC programs were autographed. The biggest name signatures on the 1980 program were Pete Holohan (Rams TE during the Dickerson era) and Stacey Toran (Raiders S who died in a car crash 20 years ago). The biggest name signatures on the 1982 programs were head coach Gerry Faust (on both) and athletic director Eugene Corrigan (on one) - Corrigan later became ACC commissioner and is in the Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
