January Group Rip?

I know people are still recovering from the holidays -- but I was doing some damage to my paypal account today and was wondering if someone had organized, or was going to organize a group rip?

Actually there is a rule in place that states that new members that have animals as their avatar get hazed for 3 months, with a board option for another 3 months. image
The best pitch to start a hitter off with is always strike one.

Hey rip8cp1, welcome to the boards!

Two suggestions... turn your Private Messages on, and try putting the link to your website in your signature instead of making the link every time you post.

By the way, does your screen name mean you're a Ripken fan? If so, then and extra hearty WELCOME!! image

Well, since one one grabbed the steering wheel back from me...

A group rip is where someone arranges to get a large batch of unopened packs (usually from BBCE) and people sign up to buy however many packs they dare. Then everyone plays "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" or somesuch.

Group rips are one of the biggest highlights of this forum. Not only are the fun to participate in, they're also fun to sit and watch.

Go to Baseball Card Exchange, search for a box or case that interests you that you wouldn't normally be able to afford to buy on your own, but would be able to buy a couple packs from it, and suggest it in this thread. The original poster takes a general consensus, and if he feels there is enough demand for it to be able to sell out the box, then we start making a list of names per how many packs are in that box. Once all packs are sold out, we send our payments directly to the BBCE and Steve Hart (BBCE owner) and his employees send us our packs directly from his store. So not only does Steve take the time and effort to ship these packs out to the individual buyers, but he also typically gives us 10% off the list price! No box is too expensive for group rips. We've even ripped a box of 1986 Fleer Basketball here. Insanity!

Anyway, if you're not familiar with BBCE, it's pretty much the only place on the planet that most of us trust to buy authentic unsearched wax packs, boxes, and cases.

Do a search on this forum for "group rip" and have yourself a read. You'll get it.
