Muggyman or cello pack expert question on pack and any good shops in Baltimore/DC?

Wife is being sworn in a the Capital this coming week and fly into Baltimore and are staying in DC. Is there any good shops that you can recommend?

We fly in Saturday so even a card show up there would be awesome!

Also is this pack legit? The back looks funny to me?

Not suggesting the seller even knows but it looks strange on the back.

Thanks in advance on both questions

I'd ask for a better scan. People who don't crop their scans worry me. It might be an honest mistake, but I worry that they are trying to hide something.

Kinda like someone selling a car that takes 1 picture from 100 feet away.

    Robbie's First Base in Balt.

Is that the same one that used to be in Timonium and shared a store with a UPS shipping store? I was out there about 5 years ago and they turned it pretty much all into autographs, plaques, balls, etc... Never was a fan of that shop. Sportscard Heroes in Laurel and The Dugout Zone in Ellicott City are both decent and about halfway between Baltimore and DC. Baseball Card Outlet in Baltimore is also not bad.
  • Hey 1980scollector, I am one too!

    83 Gwynn cello

I have actually bought from this guy (same 83 cello) once or twice and the backs have always looked (not so hot obviously) like that in the pictures. Before buying, I remember sending him a question through ebay to find out where he got all of them (he had a lot) and why the back was all screwed up. I was satisfied with his answer (can't remember what it was) and with his ebay history and feedback, I indeed won one or two and gave him the benefit of the doubt.

I did get it and it looked exactly like the picture, it seemed legit, but I just don't know what a professional (BBCE) explanation would be on that kind of messy seal. I always see him putting quantity of these up so, I might be a little weary and I have not bought those since. Yes, we certainly have to side with caution - I never sent that/his pack into PSA for the record.

Try sending him a question asking if he can tell you the origin of these packs and why the back looks like the way I wrap presents.

Rackpacks just have so much (usually) less risk...

    Good luck, thanks for asking...

Are '83 Topps packs typically that loose?
  • Yes, definitely always that loose, same with '84, 85+.

The question just has to be, why the wacky cracky sloppy seal on the back?

At least he showed a picture of both sides...
