Incredible detail! Must be a rush to hold them and fondle themimage. What, no?

The opportunity for detail and high relief which the engraver finds in medals
can make them so much more beautiful than coins.

You must have a heckofa collection; how many pieces to date and how do you store them?

Thanks Laurent. I really picked up on these this past year. I have some 160 or so, with a bunch on my registry in sigline. I try to buy them nice yet given the low mintage that is not always the case.

Was that your outstanding shooting medal exhibit at MSNS?

The Michigan State Numismatic Society. At the fall convention there was a spectacular exhibit of shooting medals. I had only been vaguely aware of the subject matter before seeing the exhibit. Very cool stuff.

It's amazing how much better these look when viewing them on an iPad instead of my laptop! image
