What does this grade designation mean in my PSA account? UPDATE 1/13 got a number grade!

N0: AUTHENTIC

Does this mean not authentic or authentic with no number grade? Thanks.

The only time I ever got that, I had a card that had so many qualifiers/problems, that they wouldnt even give it a '1'.
  • Nah, it's not altered. It's a full ticket with multiple signatures. On the submission form, I asked for a minimum grade of 8, otherwise authenticate and slab only. It was received November 22.

On December 17, I contacted them and asked if I could change the request because I thought about it some more, and I decided I was willing to accept any number grade. So I sent an e-mail to Priscilla indicating as much, and she said she'd take care of it.

Then it popped today with the grade described above. So hopefully it's just a communication issue that can be resolved before they ship it back to me.

didnt meet the min grade so they slabbed it authentic as requested
  • But it definitely passed authentication, correct?

Yep, slabbed as authentic with no numerical grade..
  • Thanks. I'm kind of surprised it didn't make an 8, but after thinking about, it's so nice that I'd rather have a low number grade so there's never any doubt that it could have been altered.

    N0: AUTHENTIC = No Grade, Item/Signature Authentic

I get these when grading my off condition '48 Leafs PSA/DNA'd. For Registry purposes, N0: AUTHENTIC counts as a "1."
  • The ticket is on shipping hold and Priscilla is going to have a grade put on it before it ships back to me. Everything is working out fine, but I still can't believe that ticket is not at least an 8!
  • Thanks to Priscilla and Kristie at PSA, who both helped with this submission. I was notified that this ticket received a grade of 7 and was slabbed in a red flip.

The corners look pretty good and there aren't any significant flaws, so I still think it should have been an 8 or at least 7.5, but 7 is still solid for this type of item, and with a number grade, there will never be any question as to alteration/trimming.

I guess the ever-so-slight smudging of the Girardi and Berra signatures combined with the horizontal line of white cutting through "NEW YORK YANKEES" caused the grade to be lowered. As soon as I receive the slabbed ticket in the mail, I'll post a scan. If I get it today or tomorrow, I may bring it to the show tomorrow and try to get a bump.
  • Basically the grade boiled down to a few spots and slight smudging of the Girardi and Berra signatures. Otherwise it would have been higher, but I'm satisfied with this the way it is.
