Does anyone here buy from Beckett Marketplace?

I use it once in a while and I have always had very good success with accurate grading and finding things I am looking for. So for the first time, I make an order and the cards were significantly in lesser condition than advertised. I used paypal but I have heard stories that if you make a paypal claim against beckett that they will block you from using beckett marketplace. I once tried a paypal claim against beckett and they never responded to the claim. I decided to drop that one cuz it was such a small amount. This one is a bit more significant.

I did email the seller and he has not responded. I was polite asking for a refund...nothing nasty about it, just direct to the point.

Im thinking I may attempt another PP claim...maybe I will end up being booted from BM...who knows, maybe that wont be such a bad thing.

I cant find anything on BM that tells me what to do if there is a purchase issue with someone who is selling on their site. I would think they are taking some responsibility when they take payments for the sellers.

A while back, I had an issue with a seller who was non-responsive to my attempts to contact them about the fact that they sent me the wrong card. I decided to contact Beckett via their "Still Need Help" link and someone from Beckett emailed the dealer (by first name) and CC'ed me on it. The dealer then responded and we got the issue handled.

    thanks for the responses!
  • I bought from six different dealers cards that I needed for my set. The cards were suposed to be mint or NM/Mint. I figured I would find at least one guy with decent cards. Boy was I wrong. All 2 grades below what I would grade them at.

This is my first bad experience. My past purchases I have been pretty happy with. Most everything has been accurately graded. I suppose if you want repeat customers you should be grading correctly.
