Raleigh, NC card show

Does anyone have any feedback on the big (~170 table) show at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh, NC? I have thought about heading up there for it, but wanted to get some feedback before I made the drive (6 hours for me).

    Neal, Its hit or miss depending on the dealers that decide to show up. The same promoter puts on kind of a travelling road show of shows throughout NC, so some of the better dealers decide sometimes to opt out of one of these shows. There is a decent mix of vintage and modern at these shows, but also be prepared, for the collectible toys (I.E. Star Wars figures, GI Joe, cars and trucks, etc).

    If anyone is going to the show I would appreciate someone looking for the following card for me. I've spent a lot of time on the phone with dealers in the area with no luck. Card could very well be in a commons box. Either way there's a nice finder's fee:

    I am very tuned into the NC shows put on my Inside Pitch Promotions. The original promoter has "sold out" to one of the bigger and better dealers, this weekend's show will be one of five Sportscard ONLY shows for 2011. As one of the first posters commented, these shows are hit and miss but I see great things for these shows going deeper into 2011 with the new promoter, Wes Starkey. He has assured all of the dealers and routine buyers, such as myself, that he will (and has) much more aggressively promote the shows and bring in stronger dealers and celebrities. As for this weekends show, I might be a little shy of travelling so far, the May 2011 Raleigh show should, and generally is, a killer show. I will be in Raleigh for the entire weekend and will let you know what a change of promoters has done for the complexion of these shows (but I really feel that it will be too early), I do know that ALL of the dealers that I have spoken to, as it pertains to the promotion change, are really excited and I may even decide to set up again.

    If anyone is driving through Greensboro there is a great shop about 5 minutes off of I-40 on High Point Rd.

    Really? Where? I used to go to the one that carried records and CD's and such, but it closed a couple years ago.
