Getting two T3 Turkey Reds graded - SEE THE CARDS

I bought two fairly nice T3 Turkey Reds (Sallee & Niles) today. As a PSA member, I went to the site to check the fees to submit them for grading. Am I correct that it will cost me $60 per card plus shipping both ways to get these graded? I would think they would sell much easier if they are holdered. Do I have any alternative other than selling them raw or submitting them to SGC? $120 plus shipping both ways seems like a lot of money for this.

Always looking for Mantle cards such as Stahl Meyer, 1954 Dan Dee, 1959 Bazooka, 1960 Post, 1952 Star Cal Decal, 1952 Tip Top Bread Labels, 1953-54 Briggs Meat, and other Topps, Bowman, and oddball Mantles.

Looks like it's going to cost me to get these graded. I welcome your thoughts on what you think the cards will grade. No creases on these cards - just corner wear. Backs are very clean. Here they are:

    PSA 5

    Nice cards.

Thanks for sharing, I think Ted and Stone are experts with this issue.

They might have a differing opinion, but they appear to be EX cards to me.

    Good for you.

I'd say PSA 4 on both.

PSA and SGC both charge the same price for T3 grading, so you're not going to save money sending to one over the other.

VG-EX looks about right barring any hidden issues that aren't visible in the scans.

SGC is $50 for T3s, so you'd save $20 plus any difference in shipping. You can also submit with other types of cards i.e. regular sized cards so you can combine into one order if you have other stuff instead of paying multiple return shipping fees with PSA.

IMHO worth spending the 60 to have graded for added protection, and resale value if you go that route. I thin you would be very surprised how much these would be worth in PSA 3.5 and higher.

nice cards....gonna go '4' on the first and '5' for the Slim Sallee.

My 2 cents....T3's look much nicer in SGC holders than they do in PSA holders.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts on this. I think I will get them graded. It just seems so much easier to sell at a decent price on this kind of card if it is graded. I agree that the SGC holders look great, but I am concerned with the popularity of PSA over SGC, even in older vintage stuff like this. Will probably go with PSA.
