Cello Vs Wax

Alright so I'm stupidly new (No pun intended) to pack ripping, and with buying the one pack of 84 from the rip, I grabbed an extremely EXTREMELY nice Marino, and I figure I can try my luck a couple more times.

So the cello are 22, while wax 14 (84 football on bbce). Is there only the amount of cards different, or is condition typically worse in the wax, I'm looking to spend around $100 and hope for another extremely nice centered rookie like the first go around.

Usually wax is better than cello in terms of condition. The wax typically protects cards better than the cellophane, and cellos are usually wrapped tighter. So I would definitely go with wax. Please keep in mind that getting a well-centered good condition superstar rookie card in a popular pack from 27 years ago is very much against the odds.

Over the summer I bought 3 packs from my friends store and nabbed a beautiful Elway AND Marino. Like Meatloaf said "Two out of three ain't bad". I think the packs were around $15.00 each. The Elway ended up in a PSA 9 holder and the Marino an PSA 8. These packs were the wax packs which I agree would be better than cello.

So it is possible to grab several key cards in a minimum number of packs. Good Luck with your future ripping............

Ye... I got an extremely nice Marino out of one cello back (Guess I got lucky) extremely nice centering corners and everything, I suppose I can grab a few wax and hope.

You could also quit while you're ahead. Figure out how much money you would need to spend to get the card you want in PSA 9, and consider going that route. I know it's all about the thrill of the hunt, but there are other options.

IMO far as ripping from my experience. This is the best to least far as results from ripping and grading.
