Too much light on most...you are over exposing everything and washing out the color a bit and compensating with saturation etc, you can see it clearly if you look at the PCGS slabs where the plastic is bright white when it should be a clear/purple...I would tone it down just a notch like you did on the first NGC slab and the focus etc is spot on so your images would be near perfection

thanks ill try that, i think also whats making the slabs look that way is the lights are simulated daylight lamps.
I used to be somebody, now I'm just a coin collector. Recipient of the coveted "You Suck" award, April 2009 for cherrypicking a 1833 CBHD LM-5, and April 2022 for a 1835 LM-12, and again in Aug 2012 for picking off a 1952 FS-902.

I use 2 75w Reveals at 10 & 2 with 100w halogen flood at 12 o'clock. I am using extension tubes on an adapted Nikon lens to a canon. So I need a ton of light to get the exposure faster than 1/15th at f8 this is the only toner pic I have handy that wasn't shot axial.

Do the lights seem to give off a blue hue to you?

They look to be 5-$10 bucks online. They also say 6500k, so there should be no blue issue.
<< <i>I have been using two lights. Do you have examples of when you were using two so we can see the difference? >>
