Do you think this would grade? 1864 Half

Hello. First time poster here.
I rarely play the grading game
I have not made my mind up on this coin.
I don't really see hairlines or anything that would scream that it's been cleaned, but it has that look as though it was wiped long ago and retoned, or it was once PL.
Anyone have an opinion?

Assuming that the white/last reverse image is the most accurate, the coin looks like a dipped (but not otherwise cleaned), semi-prooflike, mid to high range AU to me.

Looks like there's rub on the reverse too. But if it's just been dipped and is otherwise a solid AU it ought to grade.

You might be on to something there. There were 470 made according to the "RedBook".
There is very slight rub on the leg, and LIBERTY is a little weak in the middle.
It is definitely possible to be a mishandled proof, but I would have thought the seated expert I bought it from would have picked up on it. (Not someone nationally known)
Btw welcome to the forum. Nice coin.

I don't think so. Among other factors, look how rounded (as opposed to squared) the edges are. Note the lack of definition to the reverse lettering, as well.
