Here's a lovely pair of Roman Republican silver denarii in NGC slabs. I'm fairly firm on these, pricewise, but would swap them for a "12 Caesars" era Roman Imperial coin of equal value (which need not be slabbed), or one or two raw VG better-date Barber halves of similar value (assuming they're dates I need for my set).
*** BOTH SOLD NOW, BUT I STILL HAVE SOME NICE RAW ROMANS... PM ME! ***
Roman Republic, silver denarius
Q. Thermius M.f
ca. 103 BC
NGC F, Strike 4/5, Surfaces 3/5
Obv- Mars
Rev- Combat scene with two swordsmen clashing, one is protecting a fallen comrade.
Nice old "cigar box" toning
$115 firm, but nicer swaps considered (see above)
Roman Republic, silver denarius
C. Vibius C. f. Pansa
Ca. 90 BC
AR Denarius
NGC Ch. VF
Obv- Apollo
Rev- Minerva in quadriga (four-horsed chariot).
(Photo from original auction, before the coin was certified)
$135 firm, but nicer swaps considered (see above)

<< <i>Great coins Rob! I am tempted, very tempted... >>
Me too! Nice pair, if I were still collecting ancients I'd have jumped on these.

<< <i>Whoever bought the C. Vibius C. f. Pansa got one nice coin. I used to own it and really regret selling it. >>
Yeah, I bought it, sold it to him, missed it, bought it back from him, and now I've sold it again!
Now we'll both miss it.
