    Decent color shot 66. Bottom lines to the left are not fully separated so no fbl. Overall I like it!

    Nice looking coin Coiny! Much rarer colors for a '58-P than the standard blue. 66 no fbl seems reasonable.

    66 is what I was thinking. Outside chance of FBL, depending what it looks like when I get it in hand.
    What would stop it from having a shot at 67?

    Thanks for the feedback!

    .........I sure like the look - and see no reason for it not to have a chance at MS 67 status image

    65 with outside chance of 66. What is the mark just above the clapper?

    It looks as if it might have lines or light scratches in the left obverse field. The other thing keeping it from a 67 would be (other) flaws which aren't evident in the image.image

    I like the tone.And was going to go with MS66,than Mark noticed
    the light scratches which I didn't see.So now I have no ideaimage

    Those lines look to be die polish to me. (Not to be confused with DIE POLISH! which was one of Hitlers' battle cries.) image

    we are deciding from pictures ;

    luster is the biggest factor , followed by eye appeal -

    Skyman can support my comment , as well as other Top Gun Franklin people ;

    there are more then a few slabbed MS-67 Franklins that got some marks .....believe me

    Put me down for 64, shot 65, non FBL. Nice tone. Is there doubling on the reverse?

    Where do you think you see cleaning? I don't see any evidence of that.

    I think some of "lines" people are seeing are artifacts from image compression, and some others are die polish.

    nice coin, 64 strike, 64 luster, 66 marks, 66 toning, nets MS65 no FBL with interesting strike through the center lower bell lines and strike doubling on the reverse

    If that area is not light scratches or heavy post production hairlines, I"ll go with MS66.

    Lock MS66 shot MS67 depending on strength of the luster.

    Ummmm, PP, I already said that I think it's a 66.

    As to grade, in many cases I think it comes down to whether the graders got lucky the night before... let's face it, we've all seen brain dead obviously misgraded (either too high or too low) coins.

    Thanks all for the great comments. I will be sending to PCGS for grading and let you all know the verdict.

    My goal here is to replace the PCGS MS66FBL 1958P below currently in my NGC registry with a better eye appeal example. My set is 66-65 FBl's so if I do not get FBL at PCGS,
    I will most likely sell this new one. We will see. The great news is this has very low financial risk if it does not grade out.

    indeed you did Skyman ; my wee plea to you was your first hand knowledge of slabbed MS-67 Franklins that look kinda out of place in their holders !
