Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

<< <i>Bought MCP in Sept. at $17, plenty of breathing room. >>
Ya, but that's past tense. Since, it was mentioned by you today so one could only buy it today. People should know the risk/reward. It can go down A LOT in a hurry. It can go up more as well. If smoeone bought this today at $55 or $53 they hate rare earth.
I also own MCP cheap..................MJ

Mentioned it here when it was below $35
I'll also mention ETF REMX which seems to lag MCP and REE. Might not be too late to jump in.

<< <i>i completely understand the Vegas part but with your IRA?
An IRA is long term for most people (not myself) and there really is no long term market safety. Current events show nothing to be "safe" in the long term, especially in light of the fact that Wall Street has turned investing into gambling. Might as well step up to the table and roll them dice yourself.

CORRECT!
<< <i>Why did they go up so much in the past couple days? >>
Take your pick
Mainly because China currently controls over 95% of production and is squeezing the market with export limitations in an effort to get buyers to open shop in China to process their purchases. The rush is on to explore and extract elsewhere. US demand is highlighted by military use of the rare earths in "national defence" weaponry and technology. This will surely result in "cost is not an issue" as far as US government consumption is concerned.
