    That is awesome.

  • Every auction ever on ebay says the same thing, if you are not prepared to pay DO NOT BID. This lady was irresponsible, and rude as well to handle things the way she did. I support Payback 100%, this lady deserved what she got, and has no right to complain. He only got what SHE originally PROMISED TO PAY in the original bid to start with (plus shipping). She DID get the tickets so could have gone to the event also. I dont think anyone got conned at all, payback just figured out a clever way to get what she legally agreed to, PAY FOR THE AUCTION! I am proud of this guy and maybe this will serve as a warning to others,if you are not prepared to pay DO NOT BID..

Yeah well, this one happened to us and has been attemped more than once image

    Counterfeit cashier's check
In this scam the victim is sent a cashier's check or money order for payment on an item for sale on the internet. When this document is taken to the bank it may not be detected as counterfeit for 10 business days or more, but the bank will deposit the money into the victim's account and tell you that it has been "verified" or is "clear" in about 24 hours. This gives the victim a false feeling of security that the document is real, so they proceed with the transaction. When the bank does find that the check is counterfeit, they will come back to the customer for the entire amount of the check.

We were able to intercept the express mail we sent containing an au 1850 double eagle, not because of the actions of the police who were absolutely worthless, not because of the fbi who were equally useless and not because of the us postal inspector ( who was soooo busy he would get with us in a couple of WEEKS ) but because I went to our local post office and met with a woman who has been a real help to us over the years who was able to call the post office at the thief's location and got them to hold it them send it back to me.

  • I like that Payback character. image

  • I created a new eBay account, "Payback" we'll call it, and sent her a message: "Hi there, I noticed you won an auction for 4 [sporting event] tickets

How would 'Payback' know who the winning bidder was so that he could send her the message?

Because the buyer had sent a e mail to the seller?

Counterfeit check happened to a coworker, except with an international twist. The buyer accidentally made the check out for too much money due to currency exchange. Requested a refund along with the merchandise. The coworker fell for it hook, line, and sinker and sent both!

And yes, Payback is a b#$%^... because the stuff she sold was stolen.

  • << <i>Coin collectingThe coin collecting scam is a scam preying on inexperienced collectors. The conman convinces the mark by stating that a high-priced collection is for sale at a lower amount. The coin collector then buys the entire collection, believing it is valuable. >>
