Be glad in a way. If they are non-collectors, odds are they will overpay by a wide margin, or buy something that many collectors might cringe at (eg: colorized coins, copper-nickel engagement announcement coin. It is difficult to buy for someone with a hobby that requires expertise. Try and buy something for someone else in a specialized hobby, and you will be in the same boat, buying something that experts in the hobby cringe at, or end up overpaying by a wide margin.
The exceptions might be a book, or something they can order from the U. S. mint.
One of the warmest gifts ever.
Thank you to my friends.

what a neat gift......this would especially appeal to an 18th cent copper collector as many of our planchets for large cents came from the Soho Mint at Birmingham
