Recently I had someone pay for a sale at the counter of the store I run. This lady had some half dollars she was glad to get rid of. There was 5 40 % Kennedy half's and this old soldier below. It has been fully 30 years since I have found a Franklin in circulation this one was quite a surprise.

This dime below was from the till about 10 years back. Its a slider and has been in one of my Roosevelt sets since then.

I find a silver dime or quarter now and then but these 2 are real cool.

  • The best in recent memory was an entire roll of 40% Kennedy halves at the local bank. Once in a while I get a wheatie or a silver Roosevelt dime. Even if it's beat up, it's a nice surprise!

    Best this year anyway:

Gram used to tell me stories about finding these in circulation when she was a little girl back in the 1920's. I never ever thought I would find one, and I finally did, unfortunately a couple of years after Gram passed away - I know she would have been so happy had she known I had finally gotten one from the wild. She was quite an inspiration for a lot of my coin collecting when I was a kid.

I found an 1859 IHC once when I was 16 in change while working Domino's Pizza.

More recently, I have found an impaired proof and a Jefferson with a railroad rim error.
