Back from the Post Office

Did our last shipping before Christmas. We also give a card and a US Federal Reserve note to each of the people who work there. Many times thruout the year there's a long line and when they see us they go and get our packages and give us ours so we don't have to stand in line. My Wife bakes these homeade Pecan Tassies that are off the charts and each person there gets a plate full of them to bring home. The envelope we usually place in the stocking hanging in front of each person.

But there was no stocking this year. No Christmas tree, no mention of Hanukah, no mention anywhere of the greatness of this time of the year. They told me that it's a national change. One of them said that there have been complaints about Christmas being "offensive" to some. Offensive?

Sometimes change sucks. This is one of those changes that sucks. Seems to be becoming an epidemic.

  • Gifts must be down with the change. When I gave my mailman his card he acted like I gave him a million dollars.

Our local post office is playing Christmas music, among other selections, and has a wide array of red and green packaging bubbles for sale as well as pre-wrapped, empty holiday packages.

Many things have changed for the worse in my lifetime.(I'm 46) I am deeply saddened by the state of our nation and it will most likely get worse before it gets betterimage

For those that celebrate Christmas, have a merry one.

I just got back from my post office, which I'm sadly moving away from in a week :-(
Ms. Regan greeted me by name and wished me a merry Christmas.

Reading the OP post made me wonder who is making all these flat out stupid decisions. Dang you work the employees to death and not even let them have the pride and good feelings brought on by knowing that they are bringing feelings of Joy and Peace to their customers by getting the mail to its appointed place on time even threw the rain and snow.
Makes one wonder if the upper management wants them all to “Go Postal.”
