    Hmmm...

    A vintage Cassius Clay autograph.
The first signed 8x10 I bought of Ali.
A book signed by Ali with AKA Cassius Clay added.

I'll have to think some more.

I traded a couple of Star Wars action figures for this shortly before he died. Mus have ben 1993 or so - Reggie Lewis signed RC:

    image

On the wish list for next year's poll - completing 1967 Red Sox team ball, getting a Tom Brady signature.

    Happy holidays everyone.

Hard to choose. A couple items that stand head and shoulders above the rest are a picture of my Dads High School Team with him front and center holding the ball, the team around him. He was captain of his 1931 team. Then there is the autographed 1962 Ohio State Basketball. After that I would probably choose different items each time I went through my collection. Off the top of my head I would keep my Clemente Rookie, 52 Topps Pafko, Yaz NM-MT Rookie, Ernie Westfield autographed Negro League cap, Mantle autograph, my first PSA card a 58 Mathews All-Star PSA 6, 60 Topps Ernie Banks PSA 8 the last card I bought.

How much did Henry charge to sign that slab? Id like to get his signature if he comes to Chicago soon.
  • Henry was $175 for a handshake, autograph, and an everlasting memory!
  • My collection blows compared to you guys, but here are the 10 I'd keep:

    - 1993 SP Derek Jeter - raw card but *looks* like it would grade pretty well
    - 1978 Topps Eddie Murray - raw
    - 1978 Topps Molitor/Trammell - raw
    - 1975 Topps George Brett - raw
    - 1980 Topps Ricky Henderson - raw
    - 1984-85 O Pee Chee Steve Yzerman - raw
    - 1989 Score Barry Sanders - raw
    - 1981 Topps Joe Montana - raw
    - 1978 Topps Tony Dorsett - raw
    - 1981 Topps Billy Sims - raw

Not for value, but nostalgia....these guys were my favorite to watch play.

Frozencaribou rolls out the hockey for the holidays:

    1) If I hadn't subbed this myself I wouldn't own it. 1 of 3 with none higher. Love the in action picture. My favourite card.
    image

    2) Henri Richard is totally underrated in the hockey world.
    image

    3) Maurice Richard's toughest Parkhurst card to find in high grade. This one isn't going anywhere.
    image

    4) Great memories of picking this up at a show in raw condition at half book.
    image

5a) Okay, the centering isn't the best, but a 6?
    image

5b) Orr is the best defenceman ever.

    6) My favourite Orr card.
    image

    7) I always am on the fence. Collect this set now or next year?
    image

    8) Love the red backgrounds of this 33 OPC set.
    image

    9) This card's grade should match Howe's jersey #.
    image

    10) 1 of 4 across all major grading companies in this grade or above.

  • Frozencaribou, those are some awesome Hockey cards you own.

That '54 Topps Howe is my all-time favorite ice card.
    Great stuff!
  • Great lists here regardless of age! I can't begin to narrow down specific cards I'd have to select in a Top 10 list. I'd have to include things like:

    1) The early '60s cards (about 3,000 of them) and inserts that my parents didn't throw out when I graduated and then left for 10 years to complete my USAF service and college.
    2) My (JUST!) completed 1962 Topps Basic Set Registry cards.
    3) The Kirby Puckett autographed ball and 8X10 photo my thoughtful wife gave me as gifts over the years.
    4) The case of various years of unopened baseball card boxes I've accumulated since I started collecting again in '81.
    5) My growing collection of first edition Zane Grey novels, two of which are baseball related. (I love the Westerns!)

This has been a cool thread. I am not a hockey guy myself, but FC, your hockey cards are really something to behold. Congrats on such nice cards.

Here are my top 10 cards in order:

    1. I love this card, although the 48 Leaf is not my favorite Musial.

    image

    2. Classic Musial RC. Such a Basic card, but I love looking at it.

    image

    3. My favorite Musial card!

    image

    4. Like I said, I love this card.

    image

    5. This card is such a blazer, although I just got the bump, I still think this card should be in a PSA 8 holder.

    image

    6. A classic picture of Stan the Man!

    image

    7. My favorite card of Mr. Roberto Clemente

    image

    8. Currently the only football card I own. Best Ever!

    image

    9. Such a difficult card to find centered. Easily my favorite Regional issue of Stan Musial

    image

    10. Have to include a Redman in this list. Tough to decide between the 52 and 53, but in the end, I just prefer the look of the 53 Redman to the 52.

    image

  • FrozencaribouFrozencaribou Posts: 1,094 ✭✭✭✭✭
    Matt,

I agree with you on the Clemente rookie. 8 all the way. And the 1956 Topps Clemente is brilliant! And the Stan the Man cards are all impressive. Wow, great cards.
