Somewhat OT, what do you all get the mailman for the holidays

I have to say my "new guy" only for the last 2 years or so is absolutely wonderful. He will pass by again at the end of his route, never leave a package in the rain, etc. What do y'all get your mailman for the Holidays?

We are also lucky enough to have a GREAT mailman. I find that a card with CA$H is ALWAYS welcomed and appreciated.

  • $20, I think that is the limit of what you are suppose to spend.

And while I have to admit my mailman is great, I have a new sub female carrier who is kinda cute.

Technically it is ILLEGAL for a mailman to accept ANY amount of cash or gift card! As far as other gifts are concerned, they are allowed to accept a gift that is valued at no more than $20.00. HOWEVER, I don't know anyone who follows these guidelines.

    $20 is the limit.

So we left him $20 and a HUGE box of home made goodies on Saturday.

We passed him as he was leaving the 'hood and hw was smiling and chewing on a brownie.

GREAT service from him. I can tell by my mail when he is on vacation.

I can tell by my mail when he is on vacation.

ditto, had an issue with a clean sweep package for over a week lost in the PO, he felt bad, but I made it a point to tell the postmaster he was on vacation when it happened. I still had the original pink slip, and I could tell it wasnt him, since they had written the pick up day, the same day as the delivery day. Everyone knows you cant pick it up at the PO until the next day, unless you chase him down image

so what you're telling me is that my PO Box is in reality about 20.00 cheaper than the check I write annually? lol

Hallco, post her pic and we'll see!image
  • Nothing for my postman. Last week he hit my mailbox and broke it in half. Now I am fighting with the PO to pay for a new one. The development I live in to replace a mailbox is $250 + Install costs. (HOA). So they are not happy with me right now, and I see my mail getting slllllooooowwwweeeerrrr delivery then normal image

I am very surprised at how many give their mail carrier alcohol!

Mine gets a nice plate of cookies, brownies, etc.
Yeah, I uploaded that KC icon in 2001
  • I give nothing.

The thought has never even crossed my mind. Same with garbage collection, drive-thru windows, barber and bell ringers. No Holiday tipping.

I tip very well in the cases of regular visits to bars, restaurants, babysitters, etc. But a holiday 'tip' for someone who does not depend on tips? Hellz no!
