Can you tell me if this Baseball is the real deal?

It looks real to me but I have no knowledge in this area of collecting.

Here's what I know.
It has been in my wifes family (Wheeling WVa near Pitsburg) since sometime in the 50's /60's (she was just a kid) after a Pirates game her dad attended.
Since then the kids played with it and the dog got it once.

I hope you can tell by the pics.. thanks

Looks like a team issued facsimile ball

    very cool item though

one way to tell is how the ink is exactly the same for all the sigs and they're all in same direction on each side of ball and some go into the laces and come back out in perfect line

Sorry, I'd have to agree with the others. It's a cool collectible though.

Thank you all for the fast replies...

I'll break the news to my son..
he'll be relieved because he's the one that played with it and the dog...

    maybe worth $20-25 to a Clemente/Pirates collector
Successful dealings with Wcsportscards94558, EagleEyeKid, SamsGirl214, Volver, DwayneDrain, Oaksey25, Griffins, Cardfan07, Etc.

Learn quickly from these boards that the dead giveaway is all the sigs stacked and facing the same way. You will never get a legit ball signed in that type of manner. Players just aren't nice enough to do that the whole team through. image

I agree with the others but still cool.

You should stamp "FAKE" "REPRINT" or "FACSIMILE" on the ball or hole punch / burn it so that it does not fall into the hands of a scammer who will pass it as authentic to a novice collector.

Never again will the hobby be the same because your son and dog gave the ball an aged appearance.

This has clearly ruined the hobby.
