No real pattern. The coin determines it.

Lots of us gripe about knee jerk reactions to NGC slabs. New ANACS are weak. Old PCI's are a good bet. But honestly I think it's irrelevant. If it's a nice coin it will earn the grade. Sometimes you have to try more than once.

I have had decent luck with small white ANACS holders. But the coins were decent. More than 75% of NGC crossovers resulted in a lower grade.
