A dicussion of the lack of Gold and Silver in our Coinage

Just some thoughts that came to mind on a Sunday afternoon while
examining the coin collection.
Debasing the coinage of the realm is the first step
to the collapse of the monetary system of any civilization.
Much more than 50% of the money in our monetary system
is in the form of electrons whizzing from bank account
to another. You can not much more debased than that.
That is why when creating this country the founding
fathers saw fit to make it law that money was to be
in the form of Gold and Silver ONLY. They remembered the
lessons from past fallen civilizations such as Rome.
Ahh but alas the people who are in charge have been allowed
to ignore these laws written down by the founders of this
country. With out trial for treason or even outrage from the
population that the bankers of this country now control.
When the bankers of a country can go to the reigning
government and threaten to crash the economy unless the
government gives them billions of dollars to bail out the bankers
from a money making scheme that has gone horribly wrong for them
without fear of execution or at the least prosecution and the government
gives in to to the bankers giving them billions of dollars and through
the country into what will possibly an unrecoverable debt
then the control of the country has gone from publicly elected officials to bankers.
We have come a long long way from the the days when Precious metals in
our coinage would not have allowed such a situation to come about.
