Need your help on how to handle this with PSA

I submitted a 1972 Topps Venezuelan Stamp Ron Santo error variation #38, the correct version is #41. PSA indicated on my submission form that the card number did not match the number in the catalog so therefore they would not holder it. I have both versions of the stamp. They holdered the standard version #41. I shot an email to PSA customer service and am awaiting a response. I was wondering how to magically make the error version appear in the "catalog" that they mentioned. Any thoughts?

Thanks
Nathan

    You could call them....
  • Let see a scan then can ask Bob Lemke to update the book and then PSA should follow suit.

i had a similar issue. I tried to sub a shaun white card from a xgames set from 2003 that was lisenced and issued in packs.. but since it wasn't in any of their catalogues they wouldn't slab it. pretty annoying. who can you contact about getting a set added to these reference books that they use? I'd also like to see the Question of Sport cards get added. Amazing that they will grade and slab a match book but not a card that is issued in packs and licensed by the sport.

Very interesting. I wonder how many variations exist.

Call PSA and ask to speak to Cosetta Robbins...she should be able to assist with a resolution.

I thought PSA wouldn't slab anything they know is an error. I know stuff slips by, but it looks like they know this is an error. If that's the case, well, you might be SOL

cosetta is off site and works for the set registry. you need to talk to someone in production in CA.

I contacted PSA and they said I need to contact SCD about getting the error variation recognized. If the error is printed in their catalog then they will recognize it. Does this info sound correct?

Here's one more the book list 161 as Rick Reichardt but here is Pete Richert not sure if it is wrong in the book or it's a numbering variation doesn't list Pete Richert in the set at all.

Maybe you could send a PM to Bob Lemke (a member here - AUPT). He always seems willing to help.

    Do you have Bob's nickname?
  • If you just insist on getting it graded, send it to SGC

Getting unlisted errors and variations recognized is a long and arduous process. I've had some success in getting variations to the 1948 Leaf Football Set listed in Beckett. Still quite a few more that need to make it. Have also had success in getting some recognized by PSA after presenting a compelling case with irrefutable evidence. The process still took an excruciatingly long time.
