Cool package in the mail today...

Alongside bills, junk mail, Christmas cards, and a kitty calendar from a local realtor, and a thank you note from fellow board member Barry (thank you, btw) this beauty arrived...

I've been looking for a nicely centered 7 of this card for a few years now, and they just don't come up for sale very often. I lost out on one recently on eBay but snagged this one in the recent SCP auction. I've wanted this Ruth for a long time. I love the full pose and the colors. I hope to hold onto this one for a long time. Anyway, just thought I'd share.

A really nice Christmas present?!
<< <i>You really need to post a warning before showing a card like that. >>
Holy Crap! I was thinking the same thing!

<< <i>Dan, Thats card is like looking at porn! Scan that baby against a black background, so I can go round 2!
I can do that. Tonight around 10? lol.
The scan doesn't do the card justice. The card is cleaner in person. For example, that bump on the top edge isn't visible to the naked eye up close.
Anyway, thanks for all the compliments. I've long been a fan of the Babe and this is my favorite card of his, though certainly not his rarest. For a card that was triple printed I belive, finding a nice 7 at the right price literally took years. But, that's all part of the fun.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.

Great pickup Dan, I'm hardly jealous at all, I'm sure I'll only hate you for a short period of time.
What's up next? Ty Cobb?

Kruk cards and Schilling.
I don't think card 144 is a triple printed card.
I always was under the impression that is was a double printed card.
The 3rd Ruth on the sheet was # 53, FKW would know for sure.
In any event it's a beaut!

<< <i>Ah yes, the ol' Craigslist scam. Sorry you fell for it. >>
I have to maybe agree with this comment. I don't see the PSA symbol on the bottom of the slab unless the non black background scan is hiding it?
People can think what they want. I feel comfortable with the purchase given the seller of the card and after closely scrutinizing the flip, font, holder, holder seals, and card itself.
<< <i>The PSA logo is definitely present in the bottom right. On the older flips (which this is) there isn't one on the back of the flip, and this is consistent with all my older flips graded around the same time. >>
Awesome! Your scan made the logo invisible. I have old slabs that have logo on front but not the back and PSA on the hologram as well as collectors universe on the hologram. I was in no way putting the card down or anything like that. I was mostly worried for you because the CL fakes do still exist they do pop up.
I am glad you are happy with your purchase. It is a nice Ruth card. Congrats.

Here's round 2, Matt. Enjoy.

Now what about the Cobb!!!
