Las Vegas Shops?

Headed to Vegas Thursday morning and leaving Monday. I will go broke if I am in the casinos for 4-5 straight days image

Any shops I need to check out? Staying on the strip without transportation other than cabs...

Well, of course you HAVE to go here

That particular pawn shop on the show is north of Sahara on Las Vegas Blvd. near the Stratosphere on the east side of the street. Don't always believe what you see on the show. The magic of television and all.

I was just there Fri-Monday - got home yesterday.

The town was empty. Casino's were quiet.

I did sit 4 seats away - same row- as Jennifer Lopez and her hubby at the Sinatra show Sunday night at the Wynn/Encore and
after the show I watched Wayne Gretzkys wife lose major $$ on the blackjack table. Wayne seemed to break even.
My friend and I were playing one table away. They had a private table minimum $1000 bet but his wife was betting way more than that.
She had a dealer that reminded me of the dealer that kept beating Clark Griswold in Vegas vacation !

I had to laugh, I bookmarked the site since I am a Vegas fan without even looking....when I went back a few minutes ago I discovered that it was all the strip clubs and had to chuckle......thanks for the info. Now if I could just get my wife to stay homeimage
  • Went to Vegas for Thanksgiving week. Comped 100% with 1st airfare. It was so packed just about everywhere. Business is up in big numbers this year over last. Asian's with bags everywhere. Record cold 29 degrees on Thanksgiving day. If you're not used to the cold bring coats.

You can go to the Luxor and spend half a day going through the Bodies and Titantic exhibits. I'm still thinking about the bodies exhibits..awesome.

Across from Planet Hollywood is the newly opened today Cosmopolitan and Aria and the City Center which was one of the biggest developments in the country the last few years. The casinos are fresh and new. Ride the Tram there and walk through the massive mall area to work off all the free booze. Super highend shops!

Restaurants weren't too packed but lines for the buffet's where amazingly long. Not worth the wait in my opinion. At the Planet Hollywood's miracle mile shops If you're a huge meat eater there's a Brazilian restaurant that has an all you can eat meal where they cut and serve all these different cuts of meat and serve it at your table and they just keep coming back. A vegetarian would puke just looking in the restaurant.

Pawn Stars pawn shop would be very interesting if you have watched all the episodes. They were filming a episode outside so it was probably packed more then usual when I was there. When you go through all the stuff in the shop you'll see tons of stuff that were highlighted in the episodes. Because they have become so popular the prices are so jacked you will not be interested in buying anything.

Hoover Dam and Lake mead. If you have never been and aren't from that part of the country it's a very interesting drive over. can you say bone dry for thousand of years. The rock and cliff formations are beautiful. The dam isn't as big as I thought. This from a guy who wasn't impressed by the Empire State building. Go as early as possible to beat the crowds.

I figure just these few things saved me possibly 2K-3K

Vegas can be as fun and as expensive as you make it. Just plan ahead. Have a great time!
