Asking $50 shipped for this interesting medal from France from approximately the late pre-ww1 to ww1 era. There is a mfg hallmark on the rim as well. According to some French contacts it was to show appreciation for sport/military training among students in the days of war-preparation before scores of them would go 'over the top' in the trench warfare that shortly followed.
