Why? What's so great about the yankees? He is so full of self importance. It's enough to make me barf.

But of course...the Yankees believe that the rest of MLB is their own personal farm system.

all Steinbrenner meant by the comment was that Mrs. Lee wouldn't get spit on again if Cliff signed, nothing more. No story here, folks. Move along.

I guess he could be planning to go NY and is just stalling for more money, but I think Lee may be struggling a bit with the thought of turning down the TX offer. Look, its where he played last year. The Rangers were better than NY last year and probably will be this year too. And, Lee is from Arkansas....and he may view TX as closer to home/family. I know the media makes it out to be a "given" that he ends up in NY, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if he stayed in TX.

I think he WANTS to stay in Texas, but he's probably feeling mounds of pressure from the MLBPA to take the highest offer no matter what.

All that steinbrenner meant was, that he and everyone else from new york believes, that the world could nor survive without the yankees.

But we all know better don't we.

    Go RED SOX !!!!!!!!

I find it amusing how much vitriol the Sox fans have for the Yankees...I guess playing second fiddle for the better part of a century leaves a bad taste in one's mouth, LOL..

    Well said grote!

    It's all about envy.

The Yankees have been in about a 1/3 of all World Series and won most of them.

Hell yes, if I was a MLB player I would rather be a Yankee than anything else!

Lee made the right move to play for a great city and great fans.

Phillies fans are more intelligent and better looking than Yankees fans...and Yankeees fans much more so than Mets fans.

    Phillies fans: Vomit on you.
    Yankees fans: Spit on you.
