Here's a find from this summer (despite a very disappointing season, at least I've found something(!)
As I have so few finds to post, I'll need to max them out..
Here are some clues:
1) Great signal (01/29 on the Minelab Explorer)
2) Large coin. I got quite excited when I saw it!...
3)...but when I picked it up I was disappointed as it was very light. Still, it was definitely a coin I hadn't dug before
4) It's a European coin
5) Picture below
So... what is it??
--coin revealed--
Good guesses! Loditom is particularly close.
French 5 Francs 1945, Aluminum
Here it is with other finds from that day (common 1900s coins).
Next to it is an iron coin, probably a 1950s Finnish 1 Markka.
One of these days I'll miraculously dig an iron coin in good condition.
Mostly there's just enough left of them to see that they've been coins - but that's it
